Give It's very first service was The Alternative Wedding List, the UK's first online charitable gift list service to provide a great selection of gifts to a selection of well-known registered charities wrapped up like a traditional gift list.

The Alternative Wedding List works like this;

• You register and select one of the groups of charities that we've put together (or make up your own group).
• Your friends and family logon to your gift list and select one, or more, of the donations to each charity that appear on your list. Donations are wrapped up like gifts so your guests can see what a particular donation could fund for each charity meaning they get to see how far their money could go.
• It's easy for you to take a look at donations made and messages left by your friends and family, and after your wedding we'll send you a certificate confirming the total donations to each charity.
• We pass 100% of donations made against your list to the charities, and use the Gift Aid that can be reclaimed on donations to cover the costs of the service.

The price of the website covers use and updates to your website for 2 years, with indefinite viewing after that time (a permanent online reminder of your big day). As the service is part of giveit.co.uk, once all costs have been covered, we pass the remaining funds onto participating charities. The extra funds for our charities from each website purchased is expected to equate to the value of restoring a child's sight by Sight Savers International or providing a goat to FARM-Africa - another way you can make a difference. We'll split the 'profit' from each website between all our participating charities - if you'd like it to go to a particular charity just let us know.
